Precautions for capacitor installation

1. When installing the capacitor, the wiring of each capacitor should be connected to the bus by a separate flexible wire rather than a hard bus, so as to prevent the damage of the capacitor sleeve caused by the assembly stress and the oil leakage caused by the damage of the seal.

Any bad contact in the circuit of the capacitor may cause high frequency oscillation arc, increase the working electric field strength of the capacitor, heat up and early damage. Therefore, it is necessary to keep good contact between the electrical circuit and the grounding part during installation.

3 when the capacitor of lower voltage level operates in the network of higher voltage level after being connected in series, the enclosure of each set shall be reliably insulated by adding insulator equivalent to the operating voltage level.

4. After star connection, the capacitor is used for higher rated voltage, and the neutral point is ungrounded. The shell of the capacitor shall be insulated from the ground.

5 before the installation of the capacitor, the primary capacitance shall be distributed to make the phase to phase balance, and the deviation shall not exceed 5% of the total capacity. When equipped with relay protection device, it shall also meet the requirements that the balance current error during operation shall not exceed the action current of relay protection.

6. The wiring of individual compensation capacitors shall be as follows: for induction motors started directly or by rheostat, the capacitance to improve the power factor can be directly connected with the outgoing terminal of the motor, and no switchgear or fuse shall be installed between the two.
